I think the best piece of advice I could give is to not wait for inspiration to strike, but to just start making art, even if you feel completely uninspired. Inspiration doesn't necessarily come to those who are just waiting for it. It comes more often to those who are in the act of doing, and then only by doing do you receive that inspiration. You'll know what to do once you start doing it. I would say save money early and often. Don't go out and buy the most expensive things and forgo going out to eat. A lot of times, I don't know, just cut expenses and you'll be making it as an artist sooner than later that way. Also, just keep going. Keep going. Don't give up. Everybody finds somebody better than them, but you can do it too.

First of all, keep in mind it's okay to be poor. It's okay to be humble. It's okay to do artwork that you don't really want to do, that your heart isn't in, as long as you know that that's temporary. You know, take a job, take a commission, something that you're not really interested in, just for the paycheck. And that's okay, as long as you know that it's not always going to be that way. You know, always have a pet project in the back of your mind or, you know, on your easel in the that you can work on, just to keep that passion alive, so that you keep doing what you want to do and are still able to survive. Because sometimes what you want to do isn't going to make money for a little while. But keep at it. If you feel strongly about something, keep working on it, and you'll be successful in the end.
