Watch VideosYou can go to the middle of the world And that's like this monument that they've built on the actual equator of the earth But it's actually like a mile or two off if you go to the actual equator line they built a museum around it and you can walk on the actual line and like try and balance and You can see water swirl one way on one side of the line and the opposite way on the other side of the line Like in Ibarra, there's this Statue of Michael Overlooking Ibarra like protecting it. And that's a really cool beautiful view over by this lake in Peguche which is in Otavalo. They have a waterfall You can go to the parks a lot of the big cities like Ibarra, Otavalo And Quito. If you're in the center of Quito, they're known for their art and they have a really cool museum You can also tour the president's house basically I don't know. It's called the president's palace a lot of flea markets
It's called Otavalo. It's like two hours outside of Quito, which is the capital and It's awesome because it's had there's a lot of indigenous people that live there and it's very cultural They wear like traditional cultural clothing They speak another language which is Quechua and a lot of them also speak Spanish the majority of them do But it's just like this really pretty cultural place
Okay, this is definitely, like, on the down low, one of the most incredible places I have ever visited in my life. It's called El Ojo de Fantasma. I'm not even 100% sure what that means. The Eye of, like, fantasy. And it is about a 45 minute drive north of the city, Riobamba. And it's in the mountainside. It is this beautiful hike that you walk through these mountains and there's this beautiful, massive waterfall. And you can cross the water, across the water and keep walking. And you can go up the mountain. And at the top, there are hot springs and another waterfall. And it's the first tier of the waterfall from the big, that leads to the big waterfall. The most incredible views, the most green you've ever seen, and hot springs on top of all of that after a long hike.
If you have the opportunity to go to Guayaquil in Ecuador, there is like in like the main city of Guayaquil, there's like this little hike to like the top of a lighthouse like on top of the mountain that it overlooks like the ocean and it is so pretty and they have really cool like little places to like eat there like on the way up and so I would highly recommend doing that.
In Otavalo there's actually a lot of really pretty places to go outside. There's a waterfall called Peguiche where everybody goes. But there's another one that's prettier, I think, and there's less people. It's a little bit further outside of Otavalo, it's called Taxupomba, and you can just rent a camioneta, a truck, and it will take you there.
When I went to Ecuador I visited Quito and I was in Guayaquil and when I was in Quito we went to La Mitad del Mundo which is like the middle of the world and so I highly suggest going there because they have such cool things and a lot of like history in Ecuador there and it's just really pretty because you get to see all like the greenery and all the mountains and it's super beautiful.
