Back in October of 2019, Ecuador went through a big civil unrest because the president raised gas prices and everyone was protesting it. We were stuck inside for eight days straight and there were riots in the street, people burning tires, burning cars, burning trains, burning everything they could get their hands on. And where I was at, so I was in the middle of Quito in the capital city and there was one day they had set a curfew where literally no one was supposed to leave the house. It was illegal and the police could shoot you if you left. And there were people that were going down to two different riots. So we watched them because we lived on a main street. We watched people going that way, people going that way. They had backpacks on that had homemade bombs in them, people wearing bandanas. We saw a plane go over dropping tear gas on people. It was just insane. But apparently it happens like every 10 years or something like that. So who knows?
