Some culture tips that I learned when I went to Ecuador is they can tell automatically if you're a tourist if you wear like sandals or flip-flops in the street and you wear shorts like you can wear it like to the beach or anything like that but like when you're out on the street like walking and like commuting people don't ever wear like shoes like they don't ever wear like sandals and shorts they always wear jeans and closed-toed shoes so just keep that in mind and they're also super open and they would just love to chat with you and say hi so have a conversation with them

People in the city will talk negatively about people in the country because they're typically not as educated and they're seen as being dirty and like not clean in their houses and everything. Don't join in on that kind of conversation. You need to talk good about other people so that you can help them change that kind of culture also so that there isn't as much racism and they're loving each other despite their differences. It's just part of the culture to be nice to everyone pretty much. When you go to someone's house and you say bye, the polite way of saying bye is to say bye to every person individually. You don't just wave and say bye and head out. You go up to each person, hug them, kiss them on the cheek and say goodbye. When someone makes food for you, you should eat all of it. They give you huge portions of food in general and sometimes it's really hard to eat all of it but they seriously get really offended if you don't eat all their food.

Ecuador has a great culture. Specifically, my favorite day that I was in Ecuador, specifically in the city of Guayaquil, is New Year's Eve, because they've got so many different traditions. First of all, they've got these things called monigotes, which are basically just like, they're like anywhere from like a foot tall to like 10 feet, 15 feet tall papier-mâché statues. And basically it represents, they make these statues out of all the things that happened in the previous year, all the things that were popular, like for example, like when I was there, like I think Ant-Man had just come out, so they had a bunch like Ant-Man, they had a bunch like Marvel Super Heroes, everything like that. And they fill these big giant statues with explosives and fireworks and all these different things. And at the 12 midnight, the entire city gets lit on fire, because these things are lining the middle of the street. And when they set them off, all these fireworks go off inside of them. So I remember being on our deck in the middle of the city, and just the entire city was on fire. There's flames everywhere we looked, and it was so, so loud and so crazy.
