Something that you should not do when you go to Ecuador, like especially if you're just walking around, like just sight, like if you're going on hikes and going to the beach and doing all that, it's okay to do this, but if you're walking around like in the streets, like look for food or go to a convenience store, never wear like sandals or shorts because native people there will never do that out on the streets. And if you do that, it's like a lot easier for them to tell if you're a tourist or not. And so you're more likely to like get robbed or like have things happen. So don't wear open-toed shoes and shorts out on the streets.
