Fulfilling thing that I've done as an attorney is represent somebody pro bono in a trial. And there's nothing like pleading somebody else's case and advocating for them, especially when you're doing it for free and just out of your own goodwill and love for your client. And the trial that I represented somebody in pro bono, I actually jumped in halfway through. So it was super inconvenient and difficult and stressful, but at the same time, I felt a lot of peace and joy just knowing that I was helping someone who is at wit's end and I was providing a service that no one without my training could have provided. And so you kind of have a superpower as a lawyer to help people in really difficult times of their lives in a way that others cannot help them because they don't have a law license.

I work for a company that has a profit sharing program that whenever our company is profitable we show us profits throughout the company. Our company had a litigation going on around 2008 after the financial crisis that I inherited when I joined the company and that year we really had no money for profit sharing. That case I was able to develop a strategy to convince the other side that they were going to lose and we'd had some key victories along the way. Seeing that they were infringing our patents and were in trouble, they agreed to a settlement and that settlement they agreed to just happened to be the same amount of money we were able to have for profit sharing for the entire company. So it felt good to be able to contribute to the bottom line for the entire company for that one special year.
