A common misconception of attorneys is what you see on TV is what a lawyer is, and that's not really the case. I've been a lawyer for 20 years and I've argued in one trial. Most attorneys don't go to court. There's a small subset of trial attorneys who do go to court or prosecutors and defense attorneys, but the vast majority of attorneys are transactional, and it's not always a highfalutin, large office building, corner office lifestyle, though it can be. Lots of attorneys work from home like I do, and you wear gym shorts and a t-shirt most of the day. Others will wear suits, of course, but that misconception is what TV shows as that attorney resolving a case in a single argument in front of a jury is a very small fraction of what attorneys really do.
