Favorite aspects
Watch VideosOne of my favorite aspects of family medicine, which is what I do, is taking care of the entire family. I have one family where I take care of four generations and it's awesome when they, when I see them and just seeing how the entire family is doing. And the reason why I chose primary care and why I love what I do is also helping people get control of their health, teaching them how to eat healthy, to help cure their, take care of their diabetes, their blood pressure, their, their mental health, and also just being there for them sometimes in heart situation. I have several times people come in just to talk, just to kind of walk through things to help them know whether or not they need additional assistance and if they are on the right track for whatever reason. And sometimes it's just being a sounding board. And I have a patient who comes in twice a month just to talk and that's all, and that's all she does. And I like to be there for the family and that's what I like about my job.
Favorite aspects of my job, there's many. I think that the thing I love about my job the most is the the sheer variety of people that I get to meet on a day-in day-out basis. I get to know them, I get to know their issues and their sicknesses and their problems, but I also get to learn about their successes. I get to learn about people from difficult circumstances who work hard and have good in life because of the effort they've put into it. I get to learn stories and lessons and I get to know people and their families and that's what I love about medicine. I get to see them, I get to see them come back, I get to work with them, I get to enjoy their successes with them. That is my favorite aspect of my job.
I really like that I get to talk with people each and every day about their health and how we can work on certain things to get them to be healthier. I'm a family doctor so I see patients of all ages from newborns to people more than 100 years old and I get challenged by multiple different complaints each day and I'm able to to continuously learn more and more and search for ways of how I can better help my patients. It's a lot of fun being able to do certain procedures here in the clinic as well that switches things up and adds some diversity to our to my daily routine.
My favorite part about being a family physician is that there's a lot of variety. You get to see a lot of different types of diseases and work with a lot of different ages and personalities. And yeah, just going from prescribing medication to doing injections, that's very enjoyable.
