I think people quit medicine due to the amount of paperwork and administrative burden that they are under. There's a lot of different pressures by health care organizations and insurance companies to monitor certain metrics or criteria and see a certain number of patients. A lot of health care companies want you to see more and more patients to make more and more money, but then as physicians often feel that this worsens patient care, also worsens their lifestyle because they have to stay longer hours to do documentation and also they're kind of told what to do and physicians after going to school for more than 10 years, most of them don't like that and I think that's what leads physicians to finally leave the field.

Why people quit? It's a great question. I think with any career, truthfully, I think the big reason, especially in medicine, people get burnt out is because of the paperwork. It's because of, you know, we see a lot of patients every day. It can be a little bit difficult to listen to people's problems all day, every day. I think the big reason, though, is people who are unhappy, in general, are looking for reasons why they're unhappy. But oftentimes it's because of the victim mentality, woe is me, why is it so hard, why do I have to do this, why do I have to do that? But if you take a step back and realize that this is not the most important thing, you know, things like our families, our religion, our faith, those are what's important. And I think if you have a good perspective on life, regardless if it's a physician or any job, it makes things a lot easier. It makes the hard throughout the day easier when you can take a step back and have that perspective on what's important in life. I think people quit because they forget that and they get too stressed out.
