⭐ Top Interviewers ⭐How media affects me
Watch VideosI thoroughly enjoy like Instagram and Facebook, but I noticed that it affects like my anxiety levels a lot. Normally I'll just try and go to Instagram or something to scroll to like relieve that anxiety, but I usually just end up catching myself scrolling and that feeling of anxiety never goes away and it kind of makes me feel worse because I start comparing myself. So I would say social media is like good in increments, like I wouldn't spend like hours on it a day, but if you spend like a couple minutes like here or there and like you're kind of like you check it regularly it's okay, but spending long amounts of time on it I would say is really bad and pretty like it doesn't help like your mental health out at all.
When I'm on social media a lot, I realize that I'm not as happy, I'm not interacting with people around me, I'm not getting outside as much, like I'm just feeling more depressed. So that's why, that's how social media affects me. More anxiety, just more of the negative things that I really don't want as much in my life, so I try to keep it down as low as I can on daily use and use altogether.
I have noticed that the more I'm on social media, the more anxious I get. Not only social media, but just like on my phone in general, I get more anxious, I get more depressy. It's just not like a good place for me, I guess. I don't particularly enjoy spending a lot of time there, just for those reasons, but I always find myself coming back to it. So I know that like the addiction thing is so real, and it's super easy to experience just a little bit of it or a lot of it and not understand or realize that that's what's happening. So it's kind of a tough place to be, but I know that if I spend a lot of time in social media, in games, in whatever, I just feel more anxious about life. I don't feel as good about, like my body doesn't feel good because you're sitting there doing nothing for so long. I just know it's not my favorite feeling. It's just a tough place to be though, because sometimes you want to just relax. So I've been trying to find new ways of relaxing that don't involve my phone.
It's interesting because whenever I'm on social media, I just start feeling super anxious, and I notice it like immediately Whenever I open up Instagram, I just I start to get like a higher heart rate and I feel more stressed So social media definitely makes me feel stressed and anxious and I shouldn't go on as much as I do
Media can be very good if you are not using it constantly, so make sure you're balanced with your time. Don't be on it 24-7, but when you're using it, use it intentionally. Upload, post, write messages to your friends, but scrolling is not it. So, I think it can affect you very negatively if you're addicted.
I notice I am a bit black and white with media, like when I wake up and I like start my day with scrolling, my whole day is ruined often, and so I'm more so like let's try to mitigate that media damage done in the mornings, try to be real productive, and then if I have some downtime in the evening I'm like able to take it and it doesn't bother me.
My senior year of high school, I wrote a research paper all about social media and its effects on adolescence and as one might expect it was found that social media has mainly negative impacts on adolescence and that it causes a lot of things like depression and anxiety and a lot of people and so I think it's just something to be aware of. I don't think that social media is inherently bad but that it's the way that we use it that determines the way that it affects us.
When it comes to media, I feel like recently it hasn't really been a positive thing, mostly when it comes to like social media and stuff like that. I feel like a lot of times I need to be like paying attention like how much time I'm spending on it and also where is the sources coming from because a lot of times you hear things on social media and you're like I don't know if this is true or not and so being able to actually look at what you're hearing and actually being able to define if it's actually truth or if it's just a story that's being manipulated and it's actually not true anymore but also when it comes to me there are other ways to be able to actually you can actually use them in ways to be able to help you learn more about different aspects of a topic or something like that so that you can actually have more knowledge and be able to be more certain on the things that you're finding out from the media and things like that.
I think that sometimes media affects me in a good way and sometimes it affects me in kind of a bad way. I think just when I'm like scrolling social media and I'm already having kind of a tough day, I find myself comparing myself to other people and that's not very good, but sometimes it motivates me. Like for example, like when I see like personal wellness videos and fitness videos, it motivates me to want to try some of those things and like healthy eating videos as well. Like I'll see something that looks really yummy and it's healthy and I'll actually make it.
