So my concussion story is actually kind of funny. Mine was just a mild concussion, but it just kind of shows that you can get it from pretty much anything honestly. I was in seventh grade and I was really late to class and I went to a private school so they were super strict about being late and we only had so much time to transition to the next class and I was I ran into my next class I swung open the door and these were big heavy private school doors and there's a girl standing behind it and it the door bounced off of her tennis shoe and then came back in and by that time my head was like in between the door and the wall and it just crushed it and it went back and forth and then I blacked out for a few seconds.

When I was 17 and a senior in high school, I was at church actually and um walking past the door and an old man opened the door at the same time I walked by and so the corner of the door hit my head right here really hard and I went home and I slept for like probably seven or eight hours and my mom told me I probably had a concussion and I did and it didn't go away for three months and I had constant headaches but eventually it did.

When I was in college, I got a concussion playing frisbee. I was throwing around with a couple of my friends. One went through it, and me and my other friend both went for it, and he was twice my size. But my head ended up hitting his shoulder. We ran into each other, and I fell, my head hit the ground. And to this day, I can't remember really anything of that that happened that night. And they told me that my memory from like that whole weekend was gone too. That came back later, but my memory that night is totally gone still. I just remember feeling a lot of pain in my head, and just little flashes of like my friends walking around, making sure I was okay, and my roommates like yelling at me to like wake up whenever I was falling asleep. It was a pretty weird experience, but I ended up being fine. The effects didn't last very long. It was just that night.

I had a pretty funny experience when I got a concussion. I was in elementary school, like fifth or sixth grade, and me and a friend were running a reverse in football, like just like Reese's football, and like he thought I was going inside, I thought I was going outside, whatever, you know, we got mixed up, and instead of handing the ball off correctly, we just kind of like ran into each other and got a concussion. It hurt really bad, and I was out for a couple weeks from anything. I think I hit my head on his chin, so he was like completely fine, didn't even seem like bugging, but for some reason his chin, I guess, was just a lot stronger than my forehead. It sucked.

I was at cheer practice and they were holding me up in a lid like above their head and then they dropped me like straight on my neck and then like there was I didn't even get any no one broke the fall at all so and then I had a really bad concussion but then I was fine. You don't remember it? Not really. But you're better now. Yeah.

Hi, my daughter got a concussion playing soccer. It happened on a really cold day. She collided with a girl and they hit heads. They did the assessment and thought she was okay. It was on a Thursday during the game and then it was over the weekend. She started complaining of a bad headache and was really tired. Went to school on Monday and the light coming in through the blinds was really affecting her and just couldn't focus. So he took her to the doctor and the concussion was worse than they thought. So just a heads up, sometimes the symptoms and stuff don't appear until a couple of days later. So just keep an eye on people. And when you suspect they have one, just watch them.

So I've dealt with several concussions in my life, but I think the worst one came from a high school wrestling mat, after which I had to deal with sensitivity to light, brain fogs, sound, and I actually ended up having pretty bad post-concussive side effects and symptoms. And so I think just recognizing that it does get better, that through proper rest and recovery, you can return to how your life was before, is an important thing to remember.

I got a mini concussion when I was in Spain. We went to this theme park called Warner Bros. theme park and we rode a lot of crazy roller coasters that day and there was one in particular that jerked us backwards and I hit my head several times on the sides of the coaster and um for the rest of my study abroad I had a headache and it was a really bad day.
