So I always thought that concussions were like just for people who played football or aggressive sports like that and got like majorly injured But I got a concussion from ice skating because I'm really bad at it And I flipped upside down and hit the back of my head on the ice and so concussions can come from all types of Injuries and things like that and you are not exempt even if you don't play football

So the cause of my concussion was volleyball. This is actually really embarrassing because I'm sure it's the lamest way that anyone has ever gotten a concussion, but I was playing volleyball. I played front row. The other team had just hit the ball over to our side of the court and my teammate, like, it was an overpass and so I was transitioning from the net back to our side, like, to hit and then I was going back up to the net since she passed it too far. So I was on my way up to the net and the girl across the net from me was a really, really good volleyball player. She, like, had already committed to go to a D1 school and was really scary. She hit me. It hit me in the face, which I don't remember, and then I fell back and hit my head on the ground, which I also don't remember.

So I've had two concussions. My very first one came from just a really bad head-on collision. It was like the front of her head into like my temple. She like ran straight into me in soccer. And then I headed the ball when it was really, really cold, like right after, so the ball was super hard and I didn't hit it on the right part of my head. So if you're playing soccer, make sure you're just educated on how and where to head the ball. Then my second one was from a car accident. So concussions can come in so many forms. A lot of them you can prevent, but some of them you can't like a car accident. So just be mindful.

Basically it's when your brain like bounces against your skull I think or something so I play football and you know concussions are pretty common when people collide and you know even with the helmets and all the protection and stuff it can only like help prevent concussions.

So, some causes of concussions, they typically come from a traumatic injury to the head. So, ones that I've gotten are from ski accidents, been hit by a car, in wrestling matches, stuff like that. So, what ends up happening is your brain is kind of suspended in your skull with fluid and when your head is knocked, it can bounce around and actually damage the brain. So, that's where a lot of the neurological symptoms come from.

The cause of my concussion was a roller coaster. We were, the roller coaster was going forward but then it stopped and went backwards and it was just not what I was expecting and since I couldn't see the track in front of me I couldn't really brace myself so I hit my head really hard several times on the side of the roller coaster and then I had a concussion for several weeks after that.
