Pharmacist

Being a pharmacist doesn't mean that you do the entire job of filling the prescription. Usually you have several technicians that you work with. They will take the prescription in, put it into the computer, pull the drug from the shelf, count it out, and you're at the end to just kind of inspect everything, but make sure everything is in order. The I's are dotted, the T's are crossed, everything is correct. And then you'll do a drug review on the prescription. The computer does a lot of that to check for interactions, but if you know your customers, you might know other things that they take over the counter, and that's where you can say, oh, this is a blood thinner. You want to make sure you stop taking your anti-inflammatory because that's a problem and that kind of thing. And lately, pharmacists are also doing a lot of extra things like immunizations and drug utilization review, where they review profiles and interact with physicians about reducing medications.
