What’s the crime like in New York? (hot spot areas, etc.)

  • Much better than when I got here in 1980. Use common sense and if you get drunk take a cab home. (Gregg, 38 years)

New York Advice

Any advice for people moving to New York?

  • It is expensive to live here. Rent for a studio apartment is $2500 in Manhattan or a nice area in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx. Get a place that costs no more than 1/3 of your monthly income or you won’t have enough money to do much else than subsist. (Gregg, 38 years)

How do you think New York will change over the next 10 years?

  • It will continue to get more everpriced & Disney-fied. It is losing much of its soul, what made it interesting for me to want to come here out of college 38 years ago. (Gregg, 38 years)
