Watch VideosThere is the food court, where it has lots of options, and then all around the university there is like tons of places where you can eat, lots of interesting restaurants with all kinds of food. Right outside of the University of Utah music building, right across from it, there is tons of restaurants, like Greek restaurant, there is a Chinese place, and then if you wanted to venture downtown Salt Lake City, there is also tons of restaurants there in downtown Salt Lake City, so you will have lots and lots of options, and you can explore all that you want, and any kind of cuisine. So it will be interesting for you.
One of my favorite hot chicken places is in downtown Salt Lake kind of next to City Creek Mall and it is called Pretty Bird Hot Chicken. I highly suggest you try it out.
The University of Utah being in Salt Lake has some of the most diverse and delicious food. At the university campus itself we have a ton of food trucks and one of the ones I would recommend is bento. It has delicious Japanese food. Another tradition we have is the farmer's market that comes every fall and so I love to get their tamales. Another location I would recommend is just downtown Salt Lake. We have tons of delicious food and being a University of Utah student you might get some discounts. We have plenty of places you can get discounts at. So just bring your U-Card and enjoy!
So I was really happy with the food options I had when I went to college. I can't really think of anywhere that I didn't like the food on campus. Although there are some like to-go like sandwiches and things where the bread would get a little soggy after a couple days so you'd have to be a little cautious about that. But everything else, really good food. Most buildings have, if they don't have a food court or something, they'll have at the very least a vending machine or a vendor with just a shelf of stuff. I think one of my favorite places on campus was Gardner Commons. They've got a booth there where they switch out the restaurant. Visiting restaurant comes and serves food and they change that up. Also Salt Lake itself has a lot of good food options. Close to University of Utah there's a ton. I really like the pie. I like there a lot. And also downtown Salt Lake's got just a ton of variety. I really like the Rosa Satchman over on 3rd West. But the nice thing about Salt Lake is I'm sure you'll be able to find something you like too.
