Injury prevention tips
Watch VideosI said this in one of my other videos, but an injury prevention tip is definitely stretching out your shins because runners can easily get shin splints if you don't take care of them very well. So definitely stretch a lot.
I did a half marathon two years ago and I was getting really bad ingrown toenails while I was training and so I was only able to get up to eight miles. Like I got up to eight miles two months before the race and then after that I think I only got to five or six. So when I was running the race I got a stress fracture in my foot because I just hadn't trained up to 13 miles. Eventually it never got fixed and it became the bone broke. So I would say if you're training for a race just really ease into it. Plan super ahead like if you're doing a half train four or five months ahead and just stay prepared and stay on top of it because you want your body to ease into it and get up to that point. So yeah I would say that's my main advice for if you're doing a race.
You just need to stay healthy, stay active, and make sure that you're stretched. Tons of runners hurt themselves by like pulling a muscle, so making sure you stretch before and after a run is super important. I have seen how important that is. Um, and also like drinking enough water, staying hydrated is super important. You could get lightheaded and faint during a run, which isn't good. Eating protein to fuel your run.
