Something that I had to learn was to stretch out my shins. I quickly realized throughout my life every time I forget to really get a good stretch in before and after running, I end up getting shin splints and I get them all the time. So my favorite exercise out of spite is stretching out because they can prevent some of the worst pain ever. So definitely recommend stretching those out.

I love calf stretches. My calves get really tight because I walk a lot too and then I go running on top of it and so my calves get really really tight and so I like put one leg behind the other and keep my knee straight while I try and put my heel on the ground. That's probably my favorite one. Another one is when I stand on a step and then you put your toes on the step but let your heels drop down and then that stretches even longer and you can do that one foot at a time or both. They both work really well. Those are my favorites. Also rolling my feet out with like a tennis ball or a lacrosse ball or something like that. My feet get really tight when I run and so it's not really a stretch but it does help keep things like loose and working how they should.
