Extreme weather
Watch VideosAustralia has very crazy weather. I normally call it the bipolar weather. Sometimes it'd be super super hot and then suddenly it rains or sometimes it rains so hard that suddenly it's sunny again. When it's hot it can get really really hot and when it's cold it can get really really cold and so you really don't know with the weather in Australia so always be prepared for the crazy weather.
During the summer, it's so hot. It's like over 110 almost for like a month and it's super dry, super clear sky. So that's one of the craziest weathers I've ever experienced.
So Australia is a pretty, pretty warm place. It gets real hot in the summer times and pretty cold in the winter times. But when I came home, I actually was emailing my old companion. And just a week or so after I had flown home, he said that there was a massive flood so tall where like the signs on the streets were fully covered. It was probably five or six feet of of rain flood that was all over the place and I had just barely missed it.
Okay, so if you're from Utah this will make sense, but if you're not we'll just have to Google some weather. Adelaide is very dry. It's pretty much like Utah except it doesn't snow in the winter. But it does get really cold and it rains a lot in the winter. In the summer it gets very very hot as well. I only can remember the temperature in Celsius and it's the hottest day got up to 48 degrees in Adelaide. In Alice Springs, it's a lot like St. George weather and so it's very hot as well there. And it's red rock everywhere. There is, it literally looks like Zion's National Park. And up in Darwin, it's a lot more tropical and so you get cyclones, you get earthquakes, and it rains all the time. Mostly, obviously, only in the wet season. There is a dry season. And it's hot all year long and very humid as well.
The weather in Australia is incredible. It's so nice and it's so warm. It usually stays pretty warm in the city. It will get really hot in Sydney and pretty humid. There are some areas that will actually snow though, so that's kind of in an area called Orange or Bathurst and it will snow there but not a ton. It won't even stick to the ground, it will leave. But I would say be prepared, bring some warm clothes and just be ready for that.
I would say that Australia sometimes has crazy weather, like one day the sun can be so hot that it feels like it's taking off your skin and then the next day it can be really cold and feel like you need to have a winter coat on and gloves. One of the craziest days was we were out knocking and it was bright and sunny outside and then within like an hour the rain was literally like going horizontal and things were just flying everywhere.
If it's not hot and you're not sweating, it's most likely pretty windy, pretty nice weather, or it's raining really bad. Like, it rains like no other. Like, if you're from not really the coast of any country that you're from, get used to the rain because the whole state of Queensland and most areas are along the coast. That's where all the cities are on the coast, so it's very humid. It doesn't really get super dry depending on where you are, but just get ready for that and bring an umbrella and bring lots of water too.
