I traveled to Sydney, Australia back in the year 2000 and I remember being very surprised when I walked by McDonald's and they had a hamburger for sale that had a big old slice of beet on it. I did a double take and went back and looked and yes, it really was a hamburger with a big slice of beet on it and it was only found there in Australia.

Okay, one food that I really loved in Australia was kangaroo. I would eat that all the time. It's delicious. It's a lot like steak and I loved it. So you'll eat that all over Australia. In Alice Springs you get kangaroo tail. I never had that but I've heard it's pretty good. And then up in Darwin there are a lot of crocodiles and so you can get crocodile burgers at the night markets in the dry season and those are also really good.

The number one crazy food that if you're a foreigner, people will give you is Vegemite. And so a little advice with that is Do not treat it like a peanut butter and jam sandwich, okay? Add as much butter as you'd like and then literally a little little bit of Vegemite so that you can be able to eat it. Number two, if you're in the country, you're gonna be fed with like kangaroo meat on Australia Day. But food is gonna be great for you.
