  • Litter in yards and along streets, high speeds through most residential neighborhoods, young minors driving 4 wheelers up and down the roads. (Ms., 2 years)

Any advice for people moving to Wellsville?

  • No public transit comes to Wellsville. You have to go to the Hyrum library, and to Hyrum or Providence for the closest grocery stores. (Ms., 2 years)

  • Don’t move here you wont want to leave. It’s the country, expect country smells. (Jessica, 10 years)

Share an experience you’ve had in Wellsville (fun, crazy, dangerous, etc.).

  • The crazy winter weather of 2016-2017- Huge amounts of snow, below freezing temperatures one day – super warm temperatures the next day followed by a few days of rain that caused massive amounts of flooding, which resulted in massive amounts of sandbagging! (Ms., 2 years)
  • To be honest I was completely shocked by the Sham Battle. Couldn’t believe there really were towns that did something so insensitive to a minority group. I love the rest of Founders Day, the parade, the activities, etc. (Stefanie, 3.5 years)
  • The cannon on Founders Day is very annoying. They could still do it, just cut the amount in half. (Austin, 5 years)
  • We love annual Founders Day. (Jessica, 10 years)
  • Cannons going off Labor Day early morning. (Jaxon, 15 years)

Wellsville’s Future

How do you think Wellsville will change over the next 10 years?

  • Less farm lands, more neighborhoods. Local’s will have to get used to “outsiders” moving into their neighborhoods. (Ms., 2 years)
  • Sadly, get bigger and lose the small town feel. (Stephanie, 2 years)
  • It’s growing. Hopefully we can get some type of grocery store in town. Or close by. (Stefanie, 3.5 years)
  • Unfortunately I think it is going to grow in population as well as commercially along the highway. (Austin, 5 years)
