I feel the city is failing us by building so many apartments throughout the city. Layton used to be a more desirable community until we started seeing apartments on every corner, crowding the streets with so much more traffic and filling the schools quicker than the schools can expand. They need to call a temporary halt to apartments and concentrate on single family dwellings. Let other cities take on their fair share of apartments and not try to fill every empty lot with multi-family dwellings. (Pat, 54 years)

Right now the most outstanding thing about Layton is all the apartments being built compared to houses. Layton is known for its mall and other shopping, its wave pool, our university campus and very well known for its wonderful Christmas display in the park. The 4th of July parade and booths in the park are great as well as our outstanding fireworks display to end the day. We also are home to the South Gate of HAFB. (Pat, 54 years)

Share an experience you’ve had in Layton (fun, crazy, dangerous, etc.).

We celebrated my 25th birthday at the aquarium in the mall, and loved having tons of birds fly all over us. The whole experience there was great. Also, taking our son around the mall on Halloween. It’s nice to have a place that gives out candy to our 2-year old where you don’t have to walk around so much, and still gives the experience of Halloween! (Katrina, 3 months)
My debate team went to Buffalo Wild Wings after tournaments all the time—it’s a very nice place. (Camilla, 4 months)
Running with the Layton hub when I was thinking of moving here at 6 am on the high school track, just to make friends and I did. (Annette, 7 months)

Many over-populated parts such as the high density apartments all over town will become more worn down and some in 10 years will be well on the way to “Ghetto-hood” (Layton Meadows comes to mind, though it won’t be alone…).
