Speech Language Pathologist

Even as a graduate student, so I'm not a licensed SLP, I'm getting there almost. I've got about one year left. The most common misconception I get as a speech language pathology student is that SLPs do speech. Not many people know what an SLP is or the scope of practice and let me tell you it's very wide. So if you're looking into this program, I highly suggest going to ASHA website, A-S-H-A, and just look up what an SLP is and what they do and take a look around, see all the different tabs and you know all the disorders and all kinds of things that we work because it is so much more than just working with stuttering or working with you know sound substitutions and that's what people most commonly think but it's so so much more.
