Video 1 - Transcription

I would say in general in software engineering people quit more often than not just to pursue new opportunities. It's a very fast-moving field and there are certainly people who are in roughly the same position with the same roles and the same responsibilities for up to a decade at a time, but it's also very common that the work that I do right now will be completely obsolete within just a few years time. There's just so much churn in new opportunities and they say that one of the most effective ways to just grow your overall salary is being willing to jump ship and being willing to pursue new opportunities. I'd say that once someone has a fair amount of experience, anything more than that a year or two, opportunities are a plenty and recruiters are very actively pursuing people working for top companies to encourage them to jump there to join their own companies.
