Watch VideosSo me and my sister, we lived in Israel and we lived on a really, really tight budget. We lived in like a youth hostel and we lived in Jerusalem. So for side money, I would go play guitar on Ben Yehuda Street, which always, we got to know really interesting people, but it was, it was good. I'd usually make a good 20 bucks an hour or something, which was a lot for us at that time. And so anyway, one time somebody approached me and said that they wanted me to play at a bar in Israel. And so I said, sure, I'll play, you know, but I was only 17. So eventually I went to go play at the bar, but before then they, they made these big posters of me and put them all around Jerusalem. It was about this big with a bunch of Hebrew all over it. And and I got to see my face all around town. And then I went and played at that bar, but they had to put a big X on my hand to make sure I didn't drink alcohol because I wasn't old enough to drink. But that was a really fun experience. That, that picture, I, I snatched one from off the street and I, I sent it to my brother who was on a mission for the LDS church. And he opened it up and he unraveled this picture of me and my face. And his companion was behind him, which is now Todd. His companion was Todd, my current husband. And that was the first picture he ever saw of me was the picture of my brother unrolled with Hebrew for the gig I was going to do out there. And then that was the first time he saw me. And after that, Lex hooked him up and we eventually dated and we got married. So.
So another story was I was playing again on Ben Yehuda street in Jerusalem and somebody approached me and they said, we really like your music, we'd like you to come and open for this singer. And he was explaining that, you know, the singer was going to be like 5,000 people to hear him and he wanted us to need to be the one to open before him. And I agreed and it was going to get all set up. But my schedule turned out different and I ended up not being in Jerusalem at the time, so I had to give it up. But it was a cool opportunity and it would have been a really, I'm sure, a really cool story. But it does, like, really interesting opportunities come from just playing it on the street if you ever get the opportunity. It's fun.
