My advice for getting started is to be patient and be willing to work your way up. I worked as an aide in a school for a couple years before I got a secretary position and that's generally how it happens. You generally are hired within as a school secretary and sometimes it takes a lot of time so you just need to be patient and willing to work hard and do the things that are asked of you and you can move up pretty quick.
