Dental Assistant

One time I had brought a patient back and he's a new patient and he had a toothache so I brought him back to get an x-ray and everything. So I brought him back and was talking to him and he told me that he had a really bad gag reflex so I was like okay let's like try it first. He takes x-ray thing right out of his mouth when I put it in. And then I went and talked to the doctor because the guy told me about a spray numbing stuff that we did have in mid-use before but I just needed to talk to the doctor before he used it. So the doctor told me to try one other thing to put a little bit of like salt on his tongue and then try it and have something right there push the button. So I went in and was gonna tell the guy about that and he like just freaked out on me started like yelling at me and so he did not like that was like no I told you I wanted it done and like stormed out. So kind of awful and it was kind of sad but that's a crazy story.

So I had this terrible fear that I would knock this tray of temporary crowns on the floor. And I tried so hard not to knock it, make sure it was on the counter. Of course, I knocked it over, knocked it on the floor, had to find the one that I needed to give to the doctor, had to sterilize it, and then give it to him and clean up the mess. It was the most craziest thing I have ever experienced and so embarrassing, but it happened. And I think one thing is, is if you have a fear, it could happen. You could be so afraid that you're going to do something wrong that it happens and you're just going to have to get through it and you're going to have to straighten it out and it's crazy, but you can do it. You can get through those fears and change it so that you're not afraid by just keep studying and having faith in yourself.

Okay, so a crazy story I have is I was interning at a double hygiene office and I was helping the hygienist and we were running a little bit behind and we were doing double hygiene and so we were running a little bit behind so I looked at the schedule and saw the next two patients had the same last name so I figured they were it was a boy and a girl and I figured they were like married or brother and sister or I don't even know what so I went and I brought them both back and I had like both sit in the same room one in like the chair waiting for the other told me to get them into the other room in just a couple minutes and they were like oh are we gonna be like waiting in the same room and I was like yeah it's not like a problem turns out they were cousins so not horrible as it could have been but still a little bit awkward a little bit embarrassing for me but they were cousins not married or brother sister so yeah
