What a typical day is like

I think a typical day in child care working can be different for every person that you work for, especially in different families. For me, I nanny a three-year-old and about a one-year-old, so often my days look like getting to their house, helping get the three-year-old to preschool, then putting the one-year-old down for a nap. After that, I pick up the three-year-old and we play for a little bit and then I feed both of the girls lunch once they're both awake and then I'll put another girl, one of the girls down for a nap, play with the other one and kind of trade off throughout the day and just make sure that they're happy and that we're playing and their family really focuses on less screen time so I make sure that there's fun activities to do throughout the day so that we're not just bored watching TV and it can be hard but it can be also a lot of fun to watch little kids.

I work specifically with two families, and so I'll work with one in the morning, I'll stay overnight, get them off to school, get everything good, and then when they're back, I'll transition to the other family. So it's often dealing with, okay, how do these kids react in the morning? What do they need? Getting them breakfast, getting them off to school, and then afternoons, I usually am, okay, helping the baby take a nap, then getting the kids home from school, helping them play, all those kind of things.

I work as a nanny for three kids. I wake up at 6 30 and then I have to wake up the kids at 7 a.m. I help them to get ready, prepare them for school and I have to drop them off in the school by 8 a.m. After that, my morning is free. I don't have to do anything in the morning and but my work starts again at 2 p.m. when I have to pick them up from school and then we can come back home. I help them with their homework and I have to cook dinner for them and that's it.
