What’s your favorite thing about living in Caldwell?

The old residential area downtown. My husband and I love to walk around in those neighborhoods and our dream is to someday buy a house there. (Kalli, 4 years)

What’s your least favorite thing about living in Caldwell?

I don’t like having to drive all the way to Nampa or Boise for good Thai food… Also, not a huge fan of our jail/tent since we live near there and people breaking out makes me nervous. (Kalli, 4 years)

What are fun things to do in Caldwell?

Mallard Park, Farmer’s Market, Lake Lowell Rec area, Canyon County Fair helicopter ride, Indian Creek Plaza. (Rhiannon, 1 year)

Walk around the neighborhoods near the College, go to Downtown and enjoy The Bird Stop and Flying M, and go to the bookstore downtown (the owners are super cool and are always down for a fun conversation). Also, the drive in movie theater is fun. (Kalli, 4 years)
The most we usually do in actual Caldwell is the fair. (Jenica, 5 years)

The Christmas lights downtown and the cardboard boat races 🙂 Also, older folks in Nampa-Mountain Home all think it’s ghetto here (which I’m okay with because it keeps a ton of people from moving here.) (Kalli, 4 years)

Not bad where I live (Nampa/Caldwell border). (Lauren, 3 years)
Unless you’re involved in shady stuff, you’ve got very little to worry about. There are a couple streets/neighborhoods that are a bit sketchy. (Kalli, 4 years)

Any advice for people moving to Caldwell?

Prepare for a long commute, unless you’re a stay at home parent or retired. (Rhiannon, 1 year)
Nothing specifically for Caldwell but in general- do not buy in a subdivision where the houses are built close together, you may get crappy neighbors. (Lauren, 3 years)

How do you think Caldwell will change over the next 10 years?

It will grow a lot. (Rhiannon, 1 year)
Probably get bigger and offer more in shopping and medical services. (Lauren, 3 years)
I think the businesses downtown will grow. I’m hoping more interesting restaurants will come into the area. (Kalli, 4 years)
