A trip that changed my perspective was probably my humanitarian trip to Thailand. We went to Udon and we helped build a school and it was incredible. I had so many cool experiences. We taught English at that school and we got to meet the kids who would be using the classroom that we built and it just reminded me how important it is to reach out to other people and help others and how blessed I am to live in America where I'm able to go to school. This trip just completely changed my perspective on service and helping other people.

When I was 24, I had the opportunity to go to Asia for three weeks. We went to South Korea, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore. And I had never been to Asia before and didn't really care for Asian food before I left. But anyway, we got to spend 10 days in Hong Kong and we were first staying in this tiny little room with a bathroom that was inside, everything was inside this little tiny space within the shower. The toilet, the sink, everything was within the shower. Fortunately, one of our party knew a couple that lived in Hong Kong at the time and they invited us to stay in their beautiful high-rise apartment and spend the remaining days with them and it was an amazing experience where I learned to love Hong Kong and Asian food.
