I went out to Nashville, Tennessee, to try and write with my friend Lone Star. Long story short, I didn't even have a contact on him, but his email didn't have a laptop. Dean Sams was the founding member of the group Lone Star. Anyways, long story short, I networked like crazy, finally was able to track down his number. I called him and say, hey, I'm out here to take you up on your offer to write. Anyways, he says, let me call you back because I got his number from his tour manager, doesn't call me back in five or six hours. And anyways, he finally calls me back at 10.30 at night saying I'm a total idiot. I totally forgot to call you back. What are you doing right now? I said, I'm in my car driving to your house. How the heck do I get there? He says, I love it. Love your tenacity. Guys, long story short, went to his house. We wrote a song, knocked his socks off. They tied it up. The very first song I write in Nashville, they ended up not doing the song. I took the song, became my first song on my album, and I got produced by Lone Star. You gotta work for your dreams.
