Hey mama, how are you doing? Know that you're not alone in this. You can be in a room full of people and still feel alone. I know I do. I have a huge support system but I still feel lonely. Just know that you're not alone. Always seek help. That's the only thing that you can really do. Stay positive. Try to get through it. Try to find somebody to talk to. Everything's going to be okay in the end. You will get through this and you're going to come out a stronger woman and a mom that you never thought you could be. We're superheroes. Just remember that.

Hi mama, I know what you're going through and don't do this alone. Talk to your doctor, talk to your husband, your mama, or talk to anyone that you feel you can safely be what you perceive as ugly. Where you can be that ugly raw self and they're not going to judge you but they're going to love you and tell you that it's this is not you, that you are are worth it, you're worth fighting for, and you are. This isn't going to last forever, I promise. Get the help you need. Your life will be changed. You can be happy again. You are a good mama. You are a good wife. You're a good person. You just need help.

Remember with postpartum depression that you did nothing wrong to be in the situation you're in. You didn't do anything to deserve this. You didn't ask for this. You aren't broken in some way that is why you ended up here. It happens to the best of us. But consider this, consider that it takes an incredibly strong woman to go through what you're going through. And you will come out on the other side of this realizing if I can go through that, if I can survive that, I can do anything. And this is because this will probably be the worst thing that you have to experience. And you'll never wish it upon your worst enemies, but you will come out so much stronger and so much more amazing on the other end. You won't believe the person you become by coming out on the other side of this.

Video 4 - Transcription

If you are a woman suffering from postpartum depression, I want you to know that one, you're not alone. It's something that many women suffer from, and I think it's something that is very silent for a lot of people, but it doesn't need to be. You are not a bad mother, you are not a bad wife, you are not a failure as a person. It is something that you really can't control, and so don't feel like you're the only one. Don't feel like you're a bad mother and that you're failing your child because you're not. There is hope, it does not last forever, even though at times it might feel like it does and it will, it won't. And there will be good times amongst the difficult, but just know that you're not alone. And I know I keep saying that, but it's just so true. You're not alone, you're not a bad mom, and there will come a time that it will pass.

Video 5 - Transcription

So if you are a mom right now and you're going through this, I just want to let you know that you're not alone. I know that you could have the hugest support system ever and still feel like you're alone. You could have a room full of people when you're going through postpartum depression and still feel like you're by yourself, but speak to people, talk to people, talk about your feelings, join a group on Facebook, a postpartum depression group, speak to your doctor. You're going to get better. This is not a permanent thing. Postpartum depression is not permanent and as the months go on, you will look back and you'll say, wow, this month was better than this month or a couple weeks ago. And now like look where I'm at. Also journaling will really help as well to keep up with your mood and just try to keep up with how you're feeling.

Video 6 - Transcription

So anybody with depression, I do encourage getting into therapy if that's possible, talking to your spouse, try to have a support group. I know that I wouldn't be able to get through this by myself. I have a very good support group. I do talk to my husband and I do talk to therapists and I try to journal and read just to keep my mind occupied so I don't have like a long period of time to just sit there and think about being depressed or think about things that you know make me depressed and to stop overthinking so much. So I hope you guys have a good support group because you're really going to need it to get through this.

Remember with postpartum depression that this will not last forever. This is not the end. This is not how you will feel forever. You will find happiness. You will love your baby. You will find joy and you'll make memories. It doesn't feel like it right now, but you will. And remember that when you look at your baby, your baby thinks you are the greatest, most wonderful, best, most greatest thing on the planet, no matter what you think of yourself. Postpartum depression lies to you. So keep in mind that you don't have to believe those lies.
