So I know a lot of people talk about PTSD for soldiers in the army, but for me PTSD, I have it because of abuse in my childhood, verbal and physical abuse, also sexual abuse in my teens. There was just a lot of stuff that happened when I was younger, and I have severe PTSD now, and it affects everything, like certain things that happen, or if somebody touches me a weird way or whatever, like I freak out. So I definitely do have PTSD, as my psychiatrist let me know. I didn't realize, I thought it was just to do with my anxiety and my depression. So for me, it wasn't obviously soldier related, and it's just frustrating when everybody thinks PTSD is only for the army people, and they don't believe me. That's been the hardest part for me to handle.

PTSD is caused by, is a bit of trauma, a traumatic experience that can cause flashbacks, different trauma responses. But it can be of any scale, it just has to be traumatic in an extreme way to that person. Just because trauma is small doesn't mean that someone can't get PTSD from it. If it is big to them, it is big to their brain, then it's going to cause PTSD, or can cause PTSD. Trauma is based on the individual's experience and not society's view of what is traumatic.

For me, it was my childhood abuse and also a traumatic event. And I know that it can be just a small event, it does not have to be a big one. So for me, it was just a small one.

My PTSD was caused from an auto accident where I was t-boned by someone running a red light. Never thought I would experience something like that in my life. It happened later in life, but it is real. And I didn't even realize I had it for probably a good month until I had a loved one suggest that I probably talk to a counselor or seek help. So you can get PTSD from many different types of traumatic experiences and I just suggest you reach out for help with a counselor, psychiatrist, or psychologist to someone. Reach out and get the help that you need because they can help you.

I feel my biggest cause is childhood trauma and bad relationships. I was in a relationship for 18 years that was horrible.
