Why people quit - Podcaster Video Transcripts

I would say people quit because of thinking that it's just something that you're going to get behind a mic, talk about a topic or come up with a topic. It's going to be easy to do it every day or every once a week or once a month. I think people don't really think about what it entails. I think people think that I'm going to hop behind a mic and you see people who have podcasts and make millions and millions of dollars because, you know, influencers do. And I think they think I'm going to hop behind a microphone and I'm going to make all this money. And I think when people realize that it takes so much time to edit your audio or edit your video, you know, just spend time behind the microphone as much as you do. I think people are not ready for that. I think that's one of the biggest reasons why people quit.

There have been times when I've actually gone a little bit silent as a podcaster because of busyness or because of life and because also I'm not a full-time podcaster, I actually don't do this for my job. I get income in other areas and I just do this because I'm passionate about it. So I think most people quit because they don't have the income from it and they either quit their job before and decide to go full-time podcasting and then they realize how much work it takes to produce and publish and edit and promote. I think promotion is one of the hardest things and so when they don't see the results that they're hoping for and they don't have the reviews and they don't have the downloads then it can be really discouraging to not see that success and they quit.

There's many reasons why someone may quit on podcasting. Either the fear overcame them. They weren't getting enough followers that they wanted to have on the podcast. Negativity from family and friends who did not support them. That's one of the reasons why people quit. And my advice is never allow that to make you quit. Keep fighting, keep pushing. The followers will come eventually. You just got to focus on putting on a great product. Once you put on a great product, trust me, you'll get the followers that you want and needed. You will never quit. So keep that in mind when you're doing your podcast. And that's the reason why people quit. They quit negative family members, negativity. They didn't get the following that they wanted. They probably think they have to get the best equipment in order to do a podcast. So remember, don't quit.

Why people quit podcasting. This is an easy one. It's so easy to get caught up in like the technical technicalities of it, right? Of editing episodes. I hate editing, right? So I've hired people like on Upwork or these online resources. I have a great editor in the Philippines. It's his full-time job and he does mine and many other podcasts and he does great. I hate editing. Like it's no fun. If I had to do all the editing, I would have quit a long time ago. So I see a lot of people quit because they don't realize how much work it is to do a podcast. So get started and as you get funds coming in, start to outsource or make that investment and just focus on the fun stuff. The fun stuff for me is sitting down with people and interviewing them or recording content.
