Okay, so the way I got my job was that I decided that I wanted to be a podcaster, and so that's how it all happened. It was all just because I chose to be a podcaster. You don't have to really apply to be a podcaster, you just have to really want it and be excited about the topic that you're talking about. There's a lot of different types of podcasts you can do. There's interviews, there's solo episodes, there's topical, there's the suspense and thriller kind of podcast, there's extremely heavily edited podcasts that have all kinds of sound effects and all things like that. But it's really up to you what kind of podcast you want to do, and it's really also up to you if you want to start a podcast, because there's apps just as easy as picking up your phone and recording to get started with podcasting. So, yeah, good luck.

How I started this podcaster, which is not my job, but I see it as a part-time job, is we bought a school bus, converted it into a tiny home and we wanted to travel around and I wanted to document it via a podcast. So people out there who never experienced it or wanted to experience it could experience it via my podcast. That's how I did this. That's how I got into podcasting.

How I got my job as a podcaster. Yes, I'm a full-time podcaster. This is my day-to-day job and how I got it was I just started it sort of as a, well first started as a blog and then once in 2014 I heard about this thing called podcasting and thought I'd try my hand at it and little by little the audience grew and more people listened and then we were able to raise funds and monetize it and now it's my full-time income and focus so it's a pretty cool job.

So I got into podcasting because I had recently quit my job after having my second child because I decided I would like to stay at home and be a mom. That's what I wanted to do, but at the same time I loved working and I missed working and I was a little worried about having a giant gap in my resume for when I was ready to re-enter the workforce. So podcasting was actually a really natural thing for me to start doing with my skill set, with the degree that I have and the career history that I have. It was an easy way for me to be able to do something from home to keep my skills up and to keep me in the in the medium that I love. So that's how I ended up landing doing what I'm doing and mostly also because it's a great hobby and gives me something to be working on outside of being a mother and a wife at home. So it's just been a really great thing for me to keep my skill set.
