Pain relief - Migraines Video Transcripts

I take the Amovig injection once a month. That's really reduced the amount of migraines I've had. I used to take a lot of Tylenol Extra Strength in the moment if I was in pain. I also take Rizatriptine, the dissolvable tablets, just to try to at least bring it down some if I don't catch it before. Other than that, usually just ice packs help laying down in the dark, no one talking, and no noise, just silence. Sometimes just like an hour of that even will sometimes help. I'm not sure if you guys have any other ideas, but that's what I would like to contribute.

Whenever I get a really bad migraine, I always drink a bunch of caffeine, take some ibuprofen, and sleep it off.

I have suffered from migraines ever since I can remember and I suffered for decades until finally I got a tip from a nurse that said to try one Motrin and one Excedrin together and that has worked wonderfully for most of my migraines. If I can get ahead of the pain and don't wait for it to get out of control and just take that at the beginning, it helps tremendously with the pain. Hope that helps.

My kids have suffered from migraines since they were small children and I too have had experience with migraines. In particular, my youngest has severe migraines and I wish someone would have told me sooner that there is medication available. We tried a lot of holistic and natural routes to cure them and it didn't help, so he now takes a nightly medication that helps significantly in the number of migraines he has. And then he also has a cocktail when they do come on that helps alleviate the pain quickly and helps with the symptoms of nausea. I think it is really important. What I've noticed is good sleep makes all the difference in the world, along with trying to reduce stress and making sure that they eat a well-balanced diet.
