How I met my husband - Marriage Video Transcripts

I met my husband through a mutual friend. It was a friend that I made at BYU-Idaho and known for a long time, and my husband met him when he went and did an internship up in Idaho after I had already graduated. They met and became friends there, and we both were living in Utah at the time, but my friend from Idaho, he came down to go climbing and hiking with me for the weekend, and he invited his friend Jeremy as well, and that's how we met. We met rock climbing the first time we actually saw each other, and then we just kept hanging out after that, and my friend really talked us up to each other, too. He played matchmaker after we met.

So I'm a religious person, and I sought my husband through, you know, prayer and revelation, and I met my husband through, first off, by prompting to go down to Arizona with my family. They were moving down there, and I went with them, and I became friends with this girl in my congregation for young single adults, and she was telling me about her little brother that was going to be coming home from his mission, and I was like, oh, that's cool. You should invite him to an activity for YSA, and she did. She brought him, like, only a few days after his mission, and we got to know each other. Well, we met each other, and then we got to know each other even better through Institute and when I got him a job at my work.

I met my husband at youth conference when I was 16 years old. He dumped an entire trash can of water on my head during a water fight, and I threw a bucket at him, and then we had a dance, and totally just fell head over heels for each other. Totally just infatuated. We dated for quite a few months, had a short breakup, got back together, and we waited for each other on our missions, and here we are. It's just a cute short little story that took a lot of hard work and a lot of loyalty to maintain, and I'm just so thankful for him.

I actually met my husband at work. We were both working at a restaurant at the time back in 2019. There had been another person with his same name before him and so I went up to him and I asked him how he spelled it and how it was said phonetically because I'm a big advocate of being able to spell someone's name correctly and say it correctly. And from that moment onward, he thought I was very interesting and he really wanted to date me because he loved the idea that it was so important for me to be able to know someone's name that well. And we started dating secretly because we didn't want other people to talk about our relationship and it was really fun to just kind of sneak off to dates without anybody knowing. It was great.

My husband and I actually met in the MTC. We were in the same district, so the same group every day for six weeks, and we were friends. We were in the district, but then we went to different missions. We served in the same country. We speak the same language, but served in different missions, and we wrote just a little bit on the mission, and then we lost contact after, but we met again at school, at college, so that was fun. We met in the MTC.

Well, we met 28 years ago at BYU. I had just moved out of an apartment complex and moved right next door in a house. And he moved in that same semester that I moved out. And he became home teachers to the people in the apartment where I used to live. And so we became friends that way. I used to go visit my old roommates. And he was a really awesome home teacher and became really good friends with them. And because I was still good friends with my former roommates, I became really good friends with him too. So there's a plug for doing your home teaching, or as it's called now, ministering. That is how we met, because he was a faithful home teacher.

We were super young so we barely remember it but then our families lost contact because he moved out of the country and then my junior year of high school I moved to the high school that he was at and we had no idea and then we were just really good friends through high school and then after high school for me, he was a grade above me, we started dating so yeah.

My husband and I, we met at a quesadilla night that some of his friends were all hosting, and so some of my friends at the time knew some of his roommates, and so we're like, okay let's just go, and so we all went, and then one of my friends that I was going to school with at the time was upstairs talking to him, and so my friends were off doing their own things, like I'm gonna go talk to my friend Peyton, and she was talking to him, and then we just kind of hit it off from there, started going on dates, and yeah.
