Safety advice
Watch VideosMy advice kind of depends on where you're from and what you're acclimated to, but Jordan is hotter than you think it is. So I made sure to go with good clothing, like more of cotton shirts and pants, hats, sunglasses. A lot of coverage from the sun is highly encouraged because you're going to be getting a lot of sun. Even just traveling from one site to the other, it's very hot. So be prepared to be drinking lots of water, staying hydrated, and staying cool.
There's a lot of things to see and do in Jordan, but as a female in Jordan, I wanted to make sure to be very, very safe and very cautious about my environment and my surroundings. And this is another area where it's very wise to have a male in whatever travel group you're with and never go alone, not even go with two people. I would recommend having a group of three at all times and one of them really should be a male. It helps you feel much safer and in the travel group I was with, it actually helped prevent a couple safety situations. Another tip is when you're getting a taxi in Jordan, the guy gets in first and if there's another guy in the group, he gets in last. So the ladies enter the taxi and leave the taxi right in the middle.
