Watch VideosWhen my doctor originally told me and diagnosed me with IBS, he prescribed something called dicyclamine for me, which is a kind of medication you can take. It's actually very connected to anxiety, and that's because when you get nervous, your IBS symptoms can kind of flare up a little bit more. So he gave me some dicyclamine and said, hey, I would take this if you know that you have like a school project or a presentation coming up or something that you think you might be a for. I wouldn't take this all the time, but I would take it when you know you might be a little bit more nervous and that anxiety might kind of make your IBS symptoms flare up. So I take that on an as-needed basis. It's not every day for sure. It's maybe once a week, sometimes maybe even closer to once a month if I just happen to think about it. But that has actually been a little bit more helpful for me is treating that what's called the brain-gut connection.
