One of the best culture tips I can give is that if someone talks over you in a conversation, they just gave permission to you to talk right back over them. Being familiar with someone in that way is kind of a sign of friendship and trusting them, which seems kind of odd to me, but I got used to it pretty fast. You need to hold your ground when you're trying to get a point across.
With getting to know the culture, I would suggest going to museums and going to see like all the buildings, the architecture. Also just like with talking to the Hungarians because then you'll get a good idea of how the language is spoken, how the language is to be heard and to be written. I definitely remember getting to know the culture by participating in different and different activities to kind of get to know the culture a little bit better and to get to know what type of history Hungary has and why the people are that they are and what happened in Hungary over the past several centuries and beyond.
Hungarian culture is actually probably one of my favorite things because Hungarians are, they are very very humble to the point where they feel like that they are the dust of the earth compared to these Americans. They are very very humble people and they've gone through a lot, a lot of crappy history with the Soviet Union, I mean being overtaken in all the different world wars and but they are such a strong people and have the biggest hearts.
