Safety depends on which area you're in. In Athens, I think the biggest thing would probably be theft or getting robbed or mugged because it's a big city. You know, it's the same as any other big city. We had a lot of people lose things on the Metro because you're standing close to someone and they just pickpocket you. If you're driving a car, follow all the rules you can. I accidentally hit a motorcycle.
So I was able to go to Greece for a study abroad program for school and it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. The people were great but one safety tip that I would have is to travel with a chained purse if you're a girl or even a guy or what do you call those a fanny pack those are really helpful. One of my friends her purse with a leather strap got cut off and it had her passport and everything in there so there was a lot of difficulty for her while she was in Greece but that's my safety tip for if you travel to anywhere in Europe but in Greece of course the same thing with pickpocketing goes on as well.
