The two holidays you want to be in Germany for are, I would say, Easter and Christmas. They do Christmas like nobody's business. It is amazing. They have these awesome traditions and most of their Christmas is done on Christmas Eve. They have a big dinner, they read a story. Usually, at least with the family I stayed with, their dinner, they'd have it in Sunday clothes and then they'd go and they'd give each other their gifts and then Christmas days spent visiting different family members. But it's really neat. Their Christmases are really neat and they have really good Christmas treats. In Germany, they also have really great Easters. Just lots of fun. You know, most of it's based on treats. Lots of chocolate.

There's a holiday the Germans do right. It is Christmas. The Christmas markets are stunning and it's so beautiful and I love seeing all the different nutcrackers and the pyramids and the arches which I'm blanking on the name currently but they're so pretty and to see all the things they do. Plus Christmas markets have some dang good food. Glühwein is delicious. If you don't drink alcohol you can get it without wine in it but it's kind of like this spiced grape juice or spiced wine is what it is and it is so good. I recommend getting Glühwein if you go and they give them in little mugs and special mugs and in each festival you get a different mug which is fun.

Germans have so many traditions and it's really cool, but I really love their Christmas, which I'm sure you've heard a million times before. But one of my favorite parts about Christmas is their Advents that they celebrate. They do four Advents and it's the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. So they usually start like the last Sunday in November is usually when it falls and they'll sing hymns and they have this candelabra that they that they light. They light each candle and it symbolizes the coming of Christ and how he brings light into the world. And they have specific songs and they also have their Christmas markets that kind of go with that. They usually open right before the first Advent and yeah, it's amazing.
