One of my personal favorite football lingos is Hail Mary, which is where the quarterback literally just like hooks the ball all the way down the field to the end zone essentially hoping that someone will catch it. Sometimes they do, most times they don't, but it's pretty fun to watch.

Sometimes in field goal the score comes down to like one field goal, there's just like a one point difference and so it's a big deal or not the kicker makes or not. They do this thing called icing the kicker where they'll get all set up, the kicker will go back, take his steps to go kick and then right before he does the opposing team will call a timeout to kind of like make him think about it more, kind of get him in his own head and potentially miss when he resets up.
