So one night we were at this family's house and they served us this food. It seemed like chicken with rice or some sort of meat with rice and it was really good. It was nice and curried and then we asked what it was and I made the mistake of asking what the meat was before I finished eating it. Never do that. And they told us that it was chicken liver and I was like oh okay like I'll keep on eating it. It's not what I would eat normally but I'll just do it and so I finished mine. I was so full of chicken liver that night.

The fruit there is to die for. The bananas taste so different than they do in the United States. They're so, so good. So I highly suggest you just go crazy with the fruit. I loved the bananas, the papayas, the pineapple, the guavas. Those are so good. They have fruit called wheat. If you know it's edible, definitely try it because there are so many things that you'll try there that aren't grown in the U.S. and like the foods that are like bananas and pineapple that we still get here, they're gonna taste so much more flavorful there. So soak it up. You're gonna miss it so much when you go back home. I love the fruit there.

I remember my very first night we sat down for dinner with this family and we were having fish and when she handed me my plate it was just the head of a fish um and I can't say I'd ever eaten that before but the craziest part was at the end when right as I'd eaten most of the meat out of it the lady who was feeding us was like no you gotta now suck the eyeball out and then uh get all the meat off around that so that was definitely a very unique experience um with some food then something I'd never done before but super cool.
