My love for my family - English Video Transcripts

The family is a central unit in the gospel and in the teachings of the church, and that importance is also reflected in the culture that I have as a Native Hawaiian. The emphasis put on relationships within the family, magnifying your role as a father or mother or son or daughter in that family unit is essential for each other's growth, each other's retention in the church. It also is a source of strength and comfort when you do go astray, and it is a place where you can feel loved and learn your importance as a child of God to then lead or co-lead a family when you're married and have your own family.

Family is so important and it took me a while to realize that. It actually took my parents getting divorced for me to realize how important family is to me. I remember saying a lot before that event that I would rather spend time with my friends and my family on anytime, anytime. But I think even though divorce is a terrible thing, it really helped me realize how important my family is to me and how important it is that I feel like I just have people with me all the time that are always supporting me and I just always have people on my side. And I've realized that I love my family and now I spend more time with them than I do with my friends. Family is so important and there is a reason that we have families and that the family is so important.

I love my family so much. We grew up, my dad was in the Air Force, so we moved around like every two years. And so my siblings were really my stalwart friends. If I wasn't friends with my siblings, I would have had no friends growing up. And to this day, they are still my best friends. My parents, I love them both so much. Unfortunately, they're divorced and have gone on different paths. But I know that they still love all of us. And that we have a really healthy relationship. And for that, I'm really grateful. I have a testimony that families can be together forever, which is some of the best news. I'm so grateful for that knowledge. I know that families are eternal principles. And I'm excited to make a family of my own someday.

I'm so incredibly grateful for my family. They have been such a support for me in my life and I've noticed that the bond that my family has is really special and I think that's something that has come because we spend time together and we consistently set aside time to do so and that's something that I want to practice in my own family when I have my own family. It's just consistently making time to be together whether that's eating a meal or just talking on the phone, in the car, on the way somewhere. I don't know, it doesn't have to be anything elaborate but just consistently making time to spend together.

I love my family. The kind of love that I have for them is the kind that makes me think I have eternity to spend with them and that's so exciting because I have eternity to get to know them better and to make memories with them.

I love my family so much. I am the second oldest of six kids and I have two amazing parents that have been very instrumental in my life in helping me make decisions like where to go to college and what to do in high school and kind of just on the day-to-day things as well. They've been there to give me dating advice and just life advice in general whenever I felt like I was struggling and I think it's because of the example of my parents being very faithful and morally upright and very kind to everybody who they meet and very inclusive that I am able to have that kind of love for other people and it's also because of the friendship that I have with my siblings that I'm able to be kind of the friendly person that I am today. I love my family because they're my number one support system and they are the people who I know will always have my back regardless of the situation.

I just wanted to share a little bit about my love for my family. First of all, I am just so grateful that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe that families can be together forever. I just love having the knowledge that even through trials and through death and through struggles and sickness and health, whatever it is, that our family is eternal and that we'll be together forever as long as we keep God's commandments. And I am just so grateful for that because my family is my rock. I can't imagine going through half the things I've gone through in my life without them. And I know that God put those specific people in my life because he knew that they would be the ones that would help me and push me and carry me through trials and anything else. And I just, I love them so much. And I know that we can be together because of the gospel.

My family members are my best friends. I love my siblings and even though I live a state away from them, I make an active effort to keep in contact with them and try and talk to them, see how their days are going, just because there's nothing more important than family in this world. My parents give me the best advice of anyone out there. I really trust their counsel and they're very in so I know that when I listen to what they say, I won't go astray. I'm just grateful that I have such an amazing family that keeps me grounded. I definitely wouldn't be where I am today without their support and their examples to me. Even as the oldest sibling, I always find things in my younger siblings that I want to emulate, like my brother's kindness or my sister's dedication to studying the scriptures. They always just make me want to be a better version of myself.

I am so grateful for my family because they are people that I can look to as examples. Right now my sister is serving a mission in Louisiana and just hearing her stories every week about her experiences on her mission is really inspiring and encourages me to be a missionary even though I'm not formally called on a mission and I'm so grateful for their examples in my life and for the love that we have for each other.

I love my family. They are my very, very, very, very best friends and I'm super close to them. So I'm really grateful for my family. I think and I'm really grateful that God gave me the family he did because I've gotten really close to them over the last, I don't know, six years just being in high school and going through things and going to college. I love that I can turn to my family for everything and I can be my true self around them. I'm not worried about like how I act and being a certain way. I love that my family, I know my family will do anything for me and I'll do the same for them. I'm always looking for ways to support them and I love talking to them about basically everything. So I'm super grateful for my family and I'm grateful that we are all so close and have such a good relationship because it's been really, really good and I've loved it. So yeah.

My love for my family, that's pretty difficult to express, but I think it's expressed best in an experience that I had several years ago when I was in seventh grade. My sister was just born and she was born prematurely, very prematurely. She was in the hospital for about two months of following her birth just in the NICU and she was she turned purple when they took the catheters out of her and miraculously she's here today and throughout that time I felt my dad's love for us and my mom's love for us even though we couldn't be around her and it just reminded me of how much I do really love my family and they really do mean everything to me and I'm so grateful that I get to be around them for eternity because we've been sealed in the temple and my parents made that decision so I'm really really grateful for them and I do love them very very much.

I love my family so much. I am so grateful that my father in heaven has blessed me with a family. My family has ended up looking a little different than I first anticipated for myself. Through the ending of one marriage and the starting of another, my family has expanded and grown. And with that, my heart has as well. I'm grateful for this laboratory of learning that the home is. Throughout generations of time, it started with the family and I think it will end in the eternities with our families. So I'm grateful that I have a wonderful husband and nine beautiful children to help me learn and grow and become the best version of myself. And that often comes through, you know, patience and hard work and trying to love when maybe it's not always the easiest, but I always get that love in tenfold back.

I love my family so much. The topic of this video is my love for my family and I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to say except that I love my family and I'm so grateful that the gospel of Jesus Christ is centered on families. That is the whole reason we do things is to be with God again with our families. We don't want to be there alone. It would be so sad. So we want to be with those we love and whoever you call family, wherever they are, whoever they are, even if they're not blood related, they are your family and they can bring the greatest joys in life. Another thing about family is I'm the oldest of 10 children and I myself am married. We're having our first child and we're excited to grow our family and I'm really excited to see what happens in life and how we're able to connect with family through our entire lives on this on this earth and in eternity.

Um, I love my family so much. They are the best people in the world and I know that, um, I would be no one like this without my family. They are the best people in the world and they have helped me, um, go through, um, all my tough challenges that I have had and my family's the best and I know that I would not be anywhere near where I am without them. So I love my family so much. They're the best people in the whole world.

Man, yeah, my family is everything. As I've gotten older, I've begun to realize like how important family is and although like the circumstances like where you live and different things like that might not be like the most helpful to cultivating those experiences and those relationships, but like technology is an amazing thing and I just know throughout my life that because of that I'll be able to be close to them and also as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Saints and the truths that have been restored, I know that I'll be able to be with my family like forever. That brings so much peace when there's a family member that dies or whatever, so yeah, they're so important.

I love my family so much and something that I think has helped us all come closer has actually been through sports and through board games because my family is super competitive and we love beating up on each other and getting mad at each other when it's all in fun and games and then at the end of the day you know we make peace and everything is good but definitely sports and games has helped my family come closer and it's something that I love about my family.

I absolutely love my family. I've been blessed to not only have a good relationship with my immediate family but also my extended family and I know that I wouldn't be the person I am today without them and I'm so thankful for their loving support and guidance in everything that I do. Being away at college has really strengthened my love and appreciation for my family and I know that families are forever and that through the gospel of Jesus Christ that we are able to be with our family for eternity and I'm so thankful for that blessing because I couldn't or wouldn't want to live a life without them.

Family is one of the most important things in this life. They've been there every day of your life. They've always been there. And most families, you know, they're going to support you. They're going to try their best to give you advice and help you make the right decisions in your life, especially your parents. I know my parents, you know, definitely wasn't that close growing up, but I can look back and 100% appreciate all the stuff that they did, because if it wasn't for them, my organization would be different. My level of strictness and dedication to things would be different. My work ethic would be different. A lot of things would be different if it wasn't for them. Things that I genuinely am thankful that they taught me. And I think it's very important to have a good relationship with your family.

My love for my family has definitely grown over time. I have three brothers and we have not always got along, but as we've moved apart from each other we realize how much we do love each other and those experiences we talk a lot more now and every time we get together it's so much more fun and I just am so thankful that we've been able to grow together and especially in the gospel.

I see much more now the importance of family. I have four younger sisters and one older sister. I love my family very much and I find myself wanting to be with them every day. I find myself always wanting to be with my spouse. However, there are some days that I enjoy the break. It's very nice, but for the most part it's wonderful because my family is always taking me into a direction that's good, that's nice, that's peaceful and comforting. Even though the steps in that direction aren't always easy, sometimes they're very difficult. For this, I know that families are eternal. I know that they are established as the most important figure in God's plan.

I love my family pretty much more than anything else in this world, and I think one of the great joys of the gospel is that it gives us the opportunity to be with our families for eternity. And the prospect of that is just so hopeful and just fills me with so much joy, like I can't wait to see my grandma again, and it'll just be a party up in heaven with my extended family and my great-grandchildren, and it's just a cool vibe.

I love my family so much. I have two sweet, sweet children and they drive me crazy so much with whining, and yet they are also so cute and so smart and I love seeing their progress. My husband, he is strong and steady and just really grounds our family and keeps us moving in the right direction, and I am so grateful for that. I grew up with three awesome brothers and they are pains in the neck and are annoying and they're just the best, and I love that about family. I love that we can have disagreements and different opinions and different experiences and get frustrated and mad and be rebellious teenagers and still appreciate our parents and still appreciate our siblings and our spouses and our children, and ultimately we're family and we love each other and I love mine.

My love for my family stems from having great examples of faithful members of the church's parents growing up. My mom has served as Relief Society president for years and my dad has served in many callings and having the priesthood and the love for the gospel in our home has really strengthened our love for each other and for Heavenly Father.

Obviously, most people care about their family and depending on the situation, it may be more difficult than others with their relationship with their family. However, at least for me, I'm only 23 and I know that my parents, you know, they love me. I know my siblings do too. And, you know, as a kid, you don't think, you never think of your parents as like just a normal person. You always think of them as someone different, like a different type of human being than you are, and that they don't feel the same, don't act the same. But we know now that's not true. You know, if our parents made mistakes, we probably would have done the same thing in some way or another. And so, my love for my family, just understand that they're human. Understand that we all love each other and that we want what's best for each other. It's honestly one of the best things you can have in your life.

God has a plan, right? The plan of happiness. It's all to return to him, but the family is the most essential unit to that plan. And there's a reason it's not like the testing center or the ACT, where you go in and you do it by yourself. We rely on our families, on each other, not just our biological families, but our ward families. And like everyone in our sphere of influence helps us out and we can help them out. And I think that interacting with one another is one of the main reasons we come to earth. And we are in families because God created that as a divine institution. And I'm really grateful for my family and how they've been able to help me and how I've been able to love with them in like a collective sense.

My family is generally one of the biggest parts of my life, and I cannot imagine what it would be like if they hadn't been part of it. I have three younger brothers, and sometimes they are a lot to handle, but the older we've gotten and the more that we've matured, the closer that we have gotten to each other, and I am just so grateful for the gospel and knowing that like I will be with my family for eternity, and that if anything happens, it's not the end, and I just I can't imagine what it would be like without them there, because I brag about them all the time to my friends at college, to my work colleagues. They're just a really big part of my life, and our relationships are really strong, and I don't have to worry about losing that, and that's just a really big thing that I'm grateful for.
