How church attendance has helped me - English Video Transcripts

I think just going to church every week keeps me focused on Jesus Christ. Sometimes it gets hard to remember everything He's done for us throughout the week, and so having that kind of Sunday, that's when I go to church, to refocus me on that is huge throughout the week, because I feel like I start off my week well and remember Him and act differently.

Church attendance has helped me by giving me a community of people I can turn to who have similar values to me, who I can rely upon, and who I can serve and become friends with. I think service in a church is a really important part of a Christian life because that's how we demonstrate our love to Christ and to our Father in heaven. For me, going to church is an opportunity for me to reset and for me to refocus on what truly matters. During my week, I get sidetracked and I forget the Lord sometimes, but it's helpful to have that constant weekly reset in addition to a daily reset as I turn to Him in the scriptures.

The more we can attend church and engage with people there, the more we position ourselves for God's fullness. I can say spiritual growth, secondly, I can say that the church has helped me to grow spiritually. Though there are many challenges, I've learned that with those challenges and temptation, at the end of the day, we are going to be conquerors. I've learned that the church is a sense of belonging. Because when I go to church, I socialize with many people, they give me ideas, they tell me about God. It has been nice.

Sunday is a very important day for us because we have the opportunity to take the sacrament, which allows us to become clean of any of the sins or misdeeds that we have done during the week. Not only that, but I love going to church because it is a happy place for me. It allows me to develop more spiritually, as well as make connections with people who I live around and near. I think that some people go to church just because, you know, it's tradition. It's what they grew up doing. But I think that coming to college has really helped me understand why going to church is important for me personally, not just because it's what I was taught.

Church attendance has helped me in so many ways. Just being able to partake of the sacrament each week and to renew our covenant with God and to really remember Jesus Christ and what he did for us. And knowing that we have the chance to start new and to start fresh and knowing that has given me a lot of peace because we aren't perfect, but through our Savior we can be able to find that joy through repentance and starting fresh.

Church attendance has helped me because going to church, I met Ruby and we became friends. And then she's in my biology class the next Wednesday.

Church attendance has blessed me in the sense of it doesn't matter what's been going on in my life, there is a place where there's an open door to feel love and to feel appreciated by somebody.

I love church for a lot of reasons. I love church because it is a place where I can serve. I can have a calling. I can seek out people who might seem alone or struggling. It's just kind of this community where I have a place where I can help, which is super fulfilling. I love serving. But more than anything, it is a place where I remember promises that I've made with God, especially through sacrament, especially through, you know, being able to remember the blood and body of our Savior, Jesus Christ. And there's something so powerful about that reconnection, about the actual action of partaking of that and doing so worthily. And that brings me so much peace and just reconnects me to my eternal purpose and perspective. And I need that in my life when things are so busy and going 100 miles a minute all the time.

Church attendance really blesses me because it gives me a sense of community. Being able to go and worship with people who are in similar life experiences as me, or even very different life experiences than me. We all come together because we want to know and we want to worship God together. And so I just really love that it brings me that sense of community and belonging. Um, when I go and worship every week.

I'm a big believer that it's the small and simple things that bring us closer to God. So even though sometimes church can just seem like a ritual, you just go there and you go through the motions, if you really are actively involved then you can get so much out of the experience. The sacrament is the highlight of my week. It's where I reflect on how I've done, what changes I need to make, and what I did well. And throughout classes I just am so uplifted and edified by the comments that other people make, especially in Relief Society. I love Relief Society more than anything else, but I just I feel that when I go to church with the mindset that I need to feel the Spirit and get something out of it, then I always do. And I've never once regretted the two hours or even three a few years ago that I would spend there.

I've been to church just with every single Sunday of my entire life. My dad, growing up, was in the stake presidency, and so I got to go with him and visit a bunch of different wards all the different years in our entire stake. It was fantastic, and I learned so much from it. I learned that everyone's a little bit different, but they all have their own stories. They all have their own meanings and changes that have happened to them through church attendance, and I got to learn about all of theirs by coming to church. I just got to make new friends who helped me through hard gospel times, who helped me through trials that I've gone through, and helped my faith to grow in ways that I never thought possible, and all of this was just because of actually going to church and participating.

Church attendance has been a blessing in my life because it's helped me develop a pattern of incorporating the gospel into my life and keeping it in my mind throughout my week and it's brought me closer to the Savior.

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and every week when we attend church during sacrament meeting, we partake of the sacrament. It is a sacred time when we renew our covenants with our Heavenly Father and remember and focus on our Savior Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for us. And every week I am made clean. I am able to repent for the mistakes and sins I've committed during that week. I'm able to hand over my burdens and things that I am having a hard time letting go of, and I give it all to Him every week. I'm made clean and new again, and it is a huge blessing. I don't know what I would do without the sacrament. It makes my week. It's my highlight of my week.

Church attendance has helped me because I know that even if I may feel alone in my life or whatever circumstances I'm dealing with, I know that I have this church, this community that I can rely on or that I can look to for any kind of help or assistance. I know that they're all trying to do their best and be the best people they can and that that means that I have these good people that will watch out for me if I need help.

Church attendance helps me every single week. It recharges my spiritual battery. It helps me prepare for the week ahead of me, giving me the insight, the inspiration, and additional knowledge that I need to help overcome challenges that the week brings. I love going to church. I love the feelings and the learnings that I get. And I love putting on the armor of God to start the week.

I believe attending church will not change you completely in one day, but once you keep attending the church on like weekly basis, you will feel the spirit that is always with you and always willing to help you and deliver the messages from God. I know that I need to go to church. This is where I should be and this is the place where I can learn about the ways for my salvation. By attending church, I know that family is the most important unity in the earth.
Video 17 Transcript
Church attendance has helped me because I have met some of my best friends through church and we have been friends for years and I think we'll continue to be friends for the rest of our life. So that's just one simple thing that I'm really grateful for church and that I actually went.

I have a testimony of being where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there, and I think this applies to our church meetings. In addition to being strengthened spiritually ourselves, I think it is an awesome opportunity to love, lift, and strengthen other people. So my focus when I go to church meetings or to FHE with my ward or any kind of ward activity is not so much what I can get out for myself, but what I can serve and uplift other people. And when I go to those meetings with that mindset, it really enhances my experience and the experience of those around me, and we all just are uplifted together, and it's great.

I think church attendance is the best thing. If you go to church, you will be blessed. You're going to partake of the Lord's Supper. If you go prepared, you will learn so much, because you might go and you might not always learn the most in the lessons. You might not, people might be in bad moods and not treat you the way you want. You might be overly sensitive and get offended for things for no reason. But if you go to church and just partake of that Lord's Supper with that prepared and open heart and open mind, and you think about those covenants, you'll be fine. And you'll just see how much it blesses you. That's how it's been for me. It blesses me when I go to partake of the sacrament. I stay because the Lord has asked me to.

Church attendance has helped me in a few ways. One, it helps me feel like I'm not alone in my belief in God. Two, it helps me hear other people's experiences and opinions and testimonies and that has helped broaden my perspectives and also have more compassion for other people and what they go through. And three, it has helped me be able to reinforce my own beliefs as I share my experiences and reflect on my belief in God and those things really give me strength and motivation to keep going, keep believing, keep being compassionate, keep loving other people and keep loving God.

Church has blessed me in so, so many ways, not just spiritually, but I definitely feel a sense of community and love at church and I feel that I can go to church and find strength and renewal to keep going. It's a place that I go to connect with God and it's a place that I can go to feel, I guess, camaraderie and just support in doing God's work and in trying to live the way that Christ would want us to live. But I also have gained so many skills from being a part of church membership by holding callings and having to serve and organize activities and different things. Church has blessed my life in every aspect.

Going to church is a real blessing for me just because of how dense and concentrated the spirit is there. It's a different kind of spirituality that I can feel present when I go to church just because of how many people are there and how our conjoined efforts in partaking of the sacrament and being reverent and listening to the talks given on the pulpit, all that coupled with partaking of the sacrament kind of help magnify the spirit in a way that you can't really access by yourself at home or in class or at FHE. Being able to go to church and learn of others and feel that spirit in a more condensed space with so many other people is just a blessing for me in my life.

I'm not gonna lie, sometimes going to church is kind of hard for me, but one thing I've been thinking about a lot recently is how Paul uses the analogy of the body of Christ, and I love that analogy because I feel like, for the sake of the analogy, let's just say that I'm like a foot. Sometimes things that hand people do just really bother me. I'm like, why are you doing that? But I've come to recognize recently that we need them, like as a foot I need hands or noses or eyes in the body of Christ, and learning how to work with people who are different than me, who maybe see God a little bit differently than me, is actually super beneficial, and their perspective and their ideas about things can be really profound and really helpful for me, and I think that God really does want us to learn how to love each other and to live with each other, and I think that that's a wonderful lesson that being part of a church community has taught me.
Video 24 Transcript
Church attendance has really helped me throughout my life because I feel like going to church is a great chance for me to just reflect and review what's really important in my life, what I need to focus on, and it's a great opportunity for me to learn and grow, and so I'm super grateful to be able to go to church.
Video 25 Transcript
Church attendance has really helped me out because it's kind of like the time to decompress during the week. It's like that day, just take a break from work and from all the all the other things that we do and just can really breathe. Not have to worry about those things and just think about God and think about how all the things he's blessed me with. So Sunday is my day to just kind of take a step back and enjoy it and to try to serve instead of just doing what I want to do. So Sunday and church attendance has blessed me in those ways and many more.

I actually really love going to church. I love the opportunity I have to once a week focus on what matters most, to focus on what I truly value and what is truly actually important to me. I also really love the opportunity I had to interact with the other members of my congregation. It's hard sometimes to feel like you're alone and that you're the only one trying to find the way back to God or you're the only one trying to walk that path. But at church, you know, nobody's, obviously nobody who comes to church is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and has weaknesses, but a lot of their, I've found as I come to church that a lot of people's weaknesses are really similar to mine. And so as I listen to them and as I've seen how they've overcome those weaknesses and develop their relationship with Christ, it's given me ideas and inspiration for my, to overcome my own weaknesses.

I have received many blessings through my church attendance, but I think the main blessing is how motivated and inspired I am by those around me. And for the weekly reminders of who I want to become and how to become the best version of myself through sermons, through scriptures that are shared, through lessons taught, or just through the examples of my fellow ward members, going to church keeps me on track and reminds me of my purpose here on earth and what I'm striving for.

Church attendance has helped me because it's a hospital for saints basically. That's why we call them wards, I think, in my mind. It's not a sanctuary for perfect people. It's more of a gathering place for those that are struggling. Our baptismal covenant is to mourn with those that mourn. If we don't get together and know each other and love each other, we can't fulfill that baptismal covenant. There's so much we can learn from each other and being in a church with each other is such a blessing that I think we take for granted sometimes because honestly being alone is really hard and being in the church and attending weekly or more than weekly with all the events we have, there's a reason for it and there's a purpose and that's to get us closer to Christ.
Video 29 Transcript
One of the biggest blessings of church attendance for me, apart from the you know the spiritual blessings that we receive, when we go to church we get to meet lots of new people and those people grow our network. I've met so many new friends. The more people that we meet, the more times we go to church, the more involved we are with the activities, we're going to be given and presented with many opportunities to serve those around us. And as we serve, for me that's the best medicine. Service makes all my problems go away. And so that's one thing I love about the church is that it provides us with many, many opportunities every day to serve others.

Church attendance has been a rock for me throughout my life. Even when things are going badly, I can always look forward to church to feel the spirit, be able to take up the sacrament, and interact with those that also want to come unto Christ.
