My name is Nimrod Juarez. I just want to share my conversion story. Everyone has one. So, just like a background about me, so I was born in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My parents moved the church around when they were like a Jew. So, they taught me a lot about the church when I was a child. So, it's one moment in your life that you need to decide if you want to take that knowledge in your life or you have something else. So, I tried to do it, to get my own testimony, my own conversion. So, I remember in 2005, President Hinckley invited us to read the Book of Mormon. So, I did it. And the 31st of December, I was reading the last chapters and I had my testimony about the church and the gospel.

My grandma learned about the church later in her teenage years. She had actually already gotten pregnant. She was expecting her first baby and my grandpa kind of showed her, you know, seminary and different things like that. And they were married by my grandfather's bishop. And then after my grandma was baptized, they were able to be sealed in the temple a year later. And it's really, really neat. That same bishop that first married them, he's actually a sealer and he was able to seal my husband and I. And it's cool to think of that ripple effect of my grandma's choice to follow Jesus Christ and to be a disciple of him and how many people and generations will be influenced by that decision, including me. And so, yes, I'm grateful for her decision to choose the Savior.

One of the times that I feel like I was more converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to believing in God was whenever I was walking home and all of a sudden I got a notification on my phone that there was a torrential downpour and that there was also a tornado warning. So I was kind of scared to be outside and when I was walking I just could feel this anxiety and this panic just building up within me and then all of a sudden I turned a corner and I saw the most beautiful rainbow, full rainbow going across the sky and the rain subsided and the sun shone and everything around me just looked golden. The sun touched everything and that's when I knew that God was there and God was mindful of me and that's when I knew that I truly believed that God was there and that's whenever I knew that I was converted to God and to be a Christian.

Hello, I want to share a little bit about my conversion story. I'm personally from Taiwan and I grew up with Buddhism and Taoist tradition until when I was 15. In 2013, I met a missionary through the church English class. They've done a great job in my English, isn't it? And I started another church and attend seminary. And a year later, despite my parents' disagreement, I got baptized. I have the chance to serve a mission for two years in Hawaii and it has been a blessing for me to see how God has changed my family and changed me personally through Jesus Christ, through his atonement. I know I'm the son of God. We have a loving Heavenly Father and we can feel his love through his spirit. Aloha.

So I recently served a mission for my church and I was serving in Nebraska and one of the coolest people I ever met was a guy named Shane and Shane has gone through a lot in his life. He was abused as a child, he has a lot of trauma from serving in the military, and he just was dealing with a lot, a lot of mental struggles. And when we found him, he was really struggling with addictions and he wanted to overcome them, but he needed help. And so we were able to share with him about Jesus Christ's sacrifice and how because of him, we can find strength and power to overcome our weaknesses. And it was amazing to watch the transformation that took place in Shane's life when he started learning about Jesus Christ and reading the Book of Mormon, he was able to find so much more joy and peace and strength to overcome his challenges.

My mother was raised in the Catholic Church. She chose to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was in college because she was taking the lessons because she was dating my dad, basic, right? But she wanted to be able to create an eternal family. She knew that the only way that she could make her family last forever was to go to the temple and do work for her ancestors. And so that's most of the reason why she chose to join the church and it has changed my life and my family's life forever.

This isn't my conversion story, but it's my grandparents' conversion story and the impact that it's had on my family. So my grandparents, they were kind of religious, not super. But then one day they met with the missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and they felt like that was right for them. And so they joined the church and they were baptized. And because of that all four of their children were also baptized and have gone out to serve the church. And now there's been multiple, over 20 grandkids who are in the church and have that relationship with Heavenly Father and have also chosen to serve in the church. And so it's just had a huge impact on our entire family because of the choices that my grandparents made.

I've always believed in God and in Jesus Christ, but it was difficult to apply Christ's teachings to myself until I got older and really started reading his word with the intent to understand and to follow, to know what he was really saying, what he was really talking about, and what he could really do for me. And it took me a while to start to understand him. But as I've dug into his word and learned of him, I've become a much happier, better person. I've seen his miracles in my life. He's done things for me that I could not do on my own.

I'm from upstate New York and so I got to go to Palmyra a lot and one time I was actually at EFY at Palmyra so, if you've been to EFY at Palmyra, hey. I was raised LDS but when I had my true conversion and everything I felt it in the sacred grove and so that's when I knew that, you know, the church was true and everything, so yeah.

I feel like my conversion to Jesus is a lifelong pursuit. I think about what that word conversion means and like if you're going to convert something like inches into centimeters or I don't know, it just denotes this like change that occurs. Like conversion to Christ to me means like changing to Christ and I feel like that's something that will take my whole life to do. But one of the reasons that I continue in that pursuit is that I really believe that Jesus has changed me. He's helped me to be kinder, he's helped me to be more patient, he's helped me to overcome things I couldn't overcome on my own and even though I know that I still have a really really long way to go in becoming more like him, I'm just so grateful for the ways that he has already changed me and he's already changed my life. So I guess that's what keeps me going, keeps me believing is I believe that Jesus has changed me and he'll continue to change me.

I had a friend and for many many years her dad would not let her join the church, but throughout all those years she still went to seminary, still went to church when she could, and still went to activities, and she's just a tremendous inspiration. And so a couple months ago she finally turned 18 and got baptized as soon as she could, went to the temple with us, and is just probably one of the most Christ-like individuals I've ever seen.

My conversion story in a nutshell began in the military where I received a Book of Mormon and then later on I threw it away then I got back into reading. I felt the desire, the curiosity to read the Book of Mormon again. I moved to Mexico, got set up with the missionaries later on and asked the elders there that were teaching me the missionary lessons, Don't you guys have a blue book with golden lettering? And they gave me the Book of Mormon. They were all excited about it. So not just the Book of Mormon but also other things that have converted me to the LDS faith.

Really, my conversion story is about admitting to myself that I wasn't who I was professing to be. When I was a kid, I kind of lived a church life all the time, but my thoughts and my actions were not the same. I didn't believe in my heart. I believed a lot because of what I wanted people to think of me. And then when I truly came to my first repentance process, that's when I knew that Jesus Christ was my savior, and I gained a real testimony for myself.

A long time ago, when I was 19, I met a friend who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I realized that that family had something that I had been searching for, even though I didn't know I was searching for it. But, and I was curious, but this friend moved away, and I was in my mind trying to figure out how I could learn more, and lo and behold, two elders knocked on my door, gave me a Book of Mormon, and they taught me the discussions, and told me to pray about it for myself, and I did, and I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a restored church on earth today, and I knew the Book of Mormon was true, and I was baptized a few weeks later. It was the best decision of my life.

I want to preface this with this is a very sacred experience to me, but my mom died when I was 11 years old and that experience left me broken and it was difficult to cope with. I remember, I think it was maybe a year and a half after my mom died, my staying after school to get help with some English homework and my teacher had to leave and she's just like, just take it home and get help from your mom and I started crying because my mom had passed away. Well, to make a long story short, a while later I started reading from the Book of Mormon and I prayed and I found out what was true and that I would be able to see my mom again.

I was born in church but my personal conversion was right after my military service. I didn't really like the church because there had been a lot of restrictions on what I like to do and what I could do. But once I understood the meaning of my life and why I came here to earth, yeah, everything became different. So at that time, I reached the missionaries by myself and then to get more knowledge of the church and histories of the church. And then I understand, oh, this is the true church and then this is where I should be.
