It's important to consider the degree of debt that you'll be entering. So dental school debt ranges from in the $200,000 range to $400,000 total debt that you'll be coming out of typically, but sometimes it's higher and occasionally it's lower. Few scholarships exist. Paying back your loans can be a challenge and choosing where you practice and how you practice can therefore be influenced by this degree of debt. So knowing what you're getting into, joining the army or air force or navy and then giving four years of service in those respective areas after can help pay for your debt at that time. Your family needs to know about that commitment that you'll be away serving there for a while. So those are some important considerations.
