Probably the most stressful experiences for me is when I've got a busy schedule and a procedure doesn't go quite as planned and you have to spend more time with that patient in order to make sure everything goes well for them and then you have hygienists needing a checkup and you have other people, patients waiting in the waiting room asking how long it's going to be. So that's for me probably the most stressful, it's just the time factor if you happen to run into a situation you didn't expect to have happen.

Some of the most stressful experiences have to do with a disgruntled patient or a disgruntled staff member, especially if you're a business owner. And I think with both of those, it's imperative that you learn good communication skills. Most often with good communication skills, you can deescalate a situation before it gets out of control. But those tend to be the most stressful experiences when they get out of hand. You can't always predict how people will react. And that's what's probably caused me the most stress over the years. But I've learned to read the room, so to speak, beforehand and try to catch them before they escalate into those super stressful situations.
