A mistake to avoid, I have personal experience with this, is as you come out of school you think you're young and I remember taking an ergonomics class and just thinking you know I'm young, I'm in shape, I'm healthy, I don't really need to worry about this kind of stuff and you know 15 years into my career I've had neck surgery and it's changed my life and I wish I would have looked back and it was because of poor posture, poor ergonomics, constantly cheating and and and bending my head and everything else the way that you know they teach you not to, so I would take serious the ergonomics and invest in your future by practicing good ergonomics, it will it will make your career last so much longer and be so much more enjoyable.

A couple of mistakes to avoid, especially if you're a new dentist out there. Don't feel like you need every new gadget that's out there in order to be successful in private practice. Some practice representatives from different dental companies will try to say, hell you need this, you need that, and before you know it you're spending a lot of money. So really research what you're looking for and what you want. Another mistake to avoid is don't try procedures which you don't feel comfortable doing. Make sure you get plenty of practice and education in those areas you want to go into. Say if you want to do implants, I would make sure you spend plenty of time and get the proper certification before you jump into areas that you don't feel comfortable with.
