If your university pre-professional office keeps a record of where dental students have been placed from your school in past years, that can indicate a likelihood of you being placed at those or getting accepted at those schools, so that might be a list to review. I would say any school you get into is great because at the end of dental school you'll be a dentist, and so I don't discount any of them per se. Some are much more expensive and you're going to have more student debt. If you choose wisely where and how you practice, it can still certainly be worth it. You can look at closeness to family and the experiences that dental schools give you. If a dental school has residency programs, sometimes the root canals or extractions may be passed to the residents more than to the undergraduate dentist, and so your experiences may be less. Look for a good patient pool.
